Flights from Birmingham to Shanghai

Compare a Birmingham-to-Shanghai quote with the cost of reaching the proposed alternative airport. Include bags, parking or rail, and an overnight hotel if needed. Keep the same travel dates and arrival at PVG in both comparisons. If a lower fare creates a longer connection or an extra day away, decide whether that saving still meets your plans.

Flights to China from the UK: airports, onward journeys and baggage

Your Shanghai arrival is only one part of the journey if you have another visit planned. Identify Shanghai Pudong or Hongqiao by airport code on every flight. An airport change is not a normal same-terminal connection; build the transfer into any domestic or rail plan. Tell us the first fixed commitment after arrival, so a Birmingham itinerary is compared on the time it gets you there, not just its first landing.

Beijing flight planning

Start with the fixed commitments in Shanghai and Beijing, then work backwards to the Birmingham departure you can make. An open-jaw plan can avoid returning to the first city solely for the flight home. Request the door-to-door cost of that option, including the journey between stops, bags and any overnight stay. Confirm the final return airport and ticket conditions before treating it as better value.

When comparing Birmingham departures to Shanghai, keep the baggage requirement identical on each quote: travellers, pieces per person and weight per piece. Ask for the final fare after buying any extra allowance in advance, then compare it with a bag-inclusive fare. If you also visit Beijing, price that journey separately where necessary. Keep written confirmation for the chosen fare; an airline name by itself is not an allowance.

Compare airlines by fare, baggage, cabin and connection

Give the team the mobility and connection requirements before choosing a Shanghai fare. Compare the time away from home, assistance handovers and the arrival hour at PVG. If relatives will collect the passenger, agree which airport and day they should expect. Add any Beijing extension before confirming the support plan.

Flying with elderly parents, children or infants from the UK

Call with the earliest Birmingham departure you can make, your latest acceptable Shanghai arrival and the number of travellers. Have passport-validity and entry-permission questions ready, but do not send document scans through the public form. Explain whether the Beijing visit can move; a flexible onward plan may create more alternatives.
