How do you confirm extra baggage has been added to a RwandAir booking?
Check a RwandAir extra-baggage purchase before travelling: receipt, passenger, flight sectors and airline confirmation.
Keep the payment receipt and obtain confirmation that the baggage purchase is attached to the correct passenger and flights. A card debit alone does not tell you which baggage service the airline has recorded.
Extra luggage is often the last thing booked before a family visit. It deserves a proper check: sorting out an unrecognised baggage purchase at the airport is much harder than resolving it before departure.
Match the service to the journey
Check the passenger name, booking reference and travel date against the baggage receipt. If you have a connection, ask which sectors the purchase covers and whether the return is included.
Pay attention to the allowance already included in the ticket. You may be buying an additional piece rather than increasing the weight of an existing piece; those are not interchangeable arrangements.
Keep the payment and service records together
Save the airline confirmation and payment receipt in an offline folder. Where a service document or EMD is issued, keep that reference too. Ask the seller for a readable breakdown if the payment message is vague.
A bank statement shows that money moved; it may not show that a service was successfully linked to the reservation. If you have payment evidence but no service confirmation, contact the airline or seller before travelling.
Resolve discrepancies before check-in
Send the booking reference, traveller name, baggage receipt and a concise explanation through the seller’s verified contact channel. Avoid sending your full card number or security code.
Ask the team to confirm the allowance in the booking record. If the flight has changed since the purchase, specifically ask whether the extra baggage moved to the replacement flights.
If the airport cannot see the purchase
Show the stored documents and ask the check-in team to review them. If you need to pay again to continue the journey, keep the second receipt and a note of the explanation given.
After travel, request an investigation from the original seller with both records. A refund is not automatic simply because two payments appear: the service and its use need reconciling.
Keep a baggage record that is easy to check
For a family booking, make a short list showing each passenger, the flight date and the extra baggage purchased. Attach the payment receipt and the service confirmation to that list. This is easier for a seller to investigate than several screenshots with no explanation of which flight they concern.
If the airport asks for another payment, first ask what allowance its system shows and which extra item is chargeable. The difference might involve the number of pieces, their weight or a purchase recorded for another sector. Keep the explanation with the receipts so a later review can address the actual discrepancy.
Before you book
- Your priority
- Keep the payment receipt and obtain confirmation that the baggage purchase is attached to the correct passenger and flights. A card debit alone does not tell you which baggage service the airline has recorded.
- Before authorising payment
- Before departure, keep proof of both payment and the airline-recorded baggage service.
- Booking help
- Send your UK airport, dates, traveller names as shown on passports and any assistance requirements. Do not send card security codes or full card numbers in an enquiry.
Your questions answered
Does extra baggage include my return flight?
Only if the purchased service explicitly covers it. Check the dates and sectors rather than assuming a return ticket means return baggage.
What if I changed the passenger or flight?
Ask whether the service is transferable or needs reissuing under its conditions. Do not rely on the original receipt alone.
Can Cheap Flights Corner check this?
For bookings and services arranged through us, send the references using our contact form. Airline-direct purchases may require the airline to investigate.
Is a bank statement enough to prove my allowance?
It shows a payment, but may not identify the passenger, sector or baggage service. Keep the airline or seller’s service confirmation as well. If it is missing, ask for a copy before travel rather than waiting until check-in.
